Show Litorarians Do Well With Available Space but there is nowhere to do it. In addition to the regular books and magazines, the library has Boy Scout merit badge books and newspapers and it is the viewing place for many city documents. Community Progress scrapbooks, town histories, biographies of local pioneers, histories of old homes, all are available at the library. By MARCELLA WALKER Drusilla Smith, Pleasant Grove City Librarian, said recently that more people than ever are using the facilities of the Pleasant Grove City Library. The library is housed in the old city hall, a state historical site, located on the southeast corner of 100 South 100 East. The lovely old building is wonderful in many respects except one -- it does not have lots of space. Over the years the library has purchased many new books and it has been given many books, magazines and papers. Space in which to put these is at a premium now, and many are having to be stored. Mrs. Smith and her staff do a remarkable job with what they have to work with. Every tiny bit of usable space is crowded with books. A minimum of space is allowed for study tables -- one for children and one for adults --in --in order to make more room for bookshelves. The librarians are very helpful, knowing where everything is, making recommendations on the best reading materials and helping find research materials and they just couldn't be more competent. One will never hear the staff complain about anything except inadequate space. There is a great deal they would like to do to upgrade the library facilities, |
