Show Page A-- 7 The Review Thursday, February 19, 1981 L f h LUCINDA PREECE Lucinda Preece Performs With Cougarettes Lucinda Preece of k Pleasant Grove per-- f formed last weekend with the Brigham Young University Cougarettes during the halftime of the televised BYU-Sa- n Diego State basketball game in San Diego. Under the direction of Jamie Jacobson of the BYU Dance Depart-ment, the troupe has also performed for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Utah Jazz, the Bob Hope Classic and at Disneyland. Lucinda, daughter of Norman and Linda Preece is a junior majoring in elementary education. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in Midvale in 1978 where she was a cheerleader and a member of the drill team, Orchesis, and National Honor Society. Lindon Student Wins Award Utah Technical College was the majority winner recently at the 1981 Utah Junior Collegiate State DECA Career Development Con-ference held at Dixie College. They won first place in eight of 11 events and took six second places and four thirds. Cindy Beagley from Lindon won second place in Credit and Finance. It was the strongest showing the college's history for its DECA chapter (Distributive Education Clubs of America) according to David Litchford, UTC DECA adviser. Encouraged by their strong showing in the state meet, winners will enter the DECA national competition scheduled for April at Las Vegas, Nev. f .' - , $ . ' V '''. .J. . " Sharon is the daughter of Floyd and Laural Ostler. There are five boys and three girls in her family, Sharon is a Sterling It Scholar in the field of Social Science and has been active in the ' Seminary Program and many school activities. :', She plans to attend y college after graduation 9 specializing in the field t of special education. ft M I" Local Students On Ricks College Honor Roll The honor roll at Ricks College for the fall semester has been released by the director of records. Sandra Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cook of Lindon, and James Sterling Young son of Mrs. Dorothy Young, of Pleasant Grove, are listed as honor students. The roll lists all students at Ricks who take at least 14 hours of credit and receive an overall 3.5 grade point average. Ricks, the largest privately owned junior college in America, had an enrollment last fall of 6t500.
