By Jock Hill . . . Recreation Basketball Worthy Rec. Project Where can you find over 350 elementary students on Saturday mornings? Watching cartoons on TV you say. That, unfortunately, is probablv also true. but Pleasant Grove City Recreation offers a health alternative for at least that many girls and boys. Del Young and a group of dedicated helpers direct a Satur day morning basketball and cheerleading program for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. With 36 teams sup-ported by 36 sets of animated cheerleaders, the Jr. High is a beehive of healthy ac-tivity between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. And the brand of ball is exciting. Exciting because of the skill levels demonstrated, but also exciting because the spectators are " asked" to just watch and let the kids play and enjoy it. Most cooperate, and as a result the players and cheerleaders don't really care what the score is, but play for the sheer joy of playing. Now, that's-refreshin-in athletics. Congratulations to Pleasant Grove City Recreation Department for sponsoring this ac-tivity.
