Show Paul Rogers Sponsoring Drinking Driver Act Representative Paul Rogers of Utah-County Utah-County is co-sponsoring a drinking driver intervention in-tervention act. Stated Rep. Rogers:"The purpose of this act is that in addition to the fine imposed, a maximum $150 fee will be charged persons convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol. The fee will cover complete costs in an educational treatment treat-ment program designed to identify the problem drinker, and give him the comprehensive treatment needed to cease his community threat." Rep. Rogers further noted, "This program will also provide an educational experience to strongly discourage driving after drinking for the occasional user." "It's impressive for a freshman representative represen-tative working to initiate such needed new legislation," stated W. Robert Wright, Utah Republican Party chairman. "Paul brings outstanding qualifications with him to the Utah House and it is obvious that he will have a great opportunity op-portunity to effectively represent the people of his district in many vital areas." |
