Show Men Antics at Races: Saturday is Last Sorensen and Danny Houston. Danny made fast time for the day and did battle with a very rapid Bill Day from Salt Lake in the dash. Danny took the win as well as the win in the main event. Bill May took the lead in the main with Danny pushing the limit until the May car spun and at the conclusion Danny had half a lap lead on the field. In the heat race Howard Sorensen gave chase to Bill May who spun and Danny played dodge cars with the remainder of the field as Howard sped to victory. The mini stock class once again came down to run from Bonneville Raceway. Mike Nish took the win in the trophy dash and main race and Wes Brunner won the heat. The Modified class has a new car driven by Cliff Campbell which is proving to be very rapid and handles beautifully. Cliff won the heat race. Craig Chynoweth came thru for the win in the trophy dash and pinned the corsage donated by K's Floral on cute DaViel Nelson. Jack Elwell did some fabulous racing to win the main event. Maria Frampton won the Powder Puff event in the stock class The Sponsers race in the Super Stock class was won by Tom Sundberg (a local hockey player for the Golden Eagles). This Saturday will be the last race of the season. A Demolition Derby will be the special event. Prizes will be given to the Pedal Bike season winners. Just when you think you've seen it all the Limited Stock boys come up with new antics. Steve Turner started the day with an unexplained stiff neck and seemed to get it straight just about the time he lost his front fender and won the main event. Grant Leonard charged hard all day long and hardly slowed down as his fuel tank went sailing onto the track in the main event. Grant completed the two remaining laps then looked very puzzled as he carted the tank away. The whole class changed positions so often and rapidly thatt it was difficult to keep track. Albert Nystrom did a tremendous job winning the trophy dash and showing the old timers that he had really learned the game. The Robert Newman - Grant Leonard battles are well known but it was Roberts turn to win the heat race as they staged their usual all out anything goes race. The Stock class events included two trophy dashes and Carolyn Gurney cleaned up after a charging attack from Kent Turner. Chad Carson took an easy win in the other dash. Only six survivors were present for Saturdays event after a grueling season. This is the class that runs more of an endurance race than heats. Four restarts later Carolyn Gurney had the lead in the heat race and then lost a wheel on the final lap to lose out to Mike Roundy. Chad Carson took the win in the main after restarts, and spin outs. Three Super Stock contenders con-tenders from Salt Lake came down to challenge Howard - w - " . ,- . - - . - . ... . 7 "L- . i j ... ' 5- f S : t- ' - M - ; t . i ' :n : ' I ' - ; a J i . ....... .
