Stewart made funds possible through Kiwanis Club. Library Section ... Stewart Beveridge Is Honored A new section of the Pleasant Grove Library was recently opened featuring books that appeal to all members of a family-oriented home. The book section, sponsored by the Pleasant Grove Kiwanis Club, is named in honor of Stewart Beveridge who produced the outstanding movie hit "Joe Panther".Several other civic-minded civic-minded clubs and groups, and the city of Pleasant Grove also have made substantial contributions, and the book-section book-section is constantly'growing. An interesting group of plaques, awards, and tokens of appreciation that have been awarded to Stewart Beveridge are temporarily displayed at the libarary. Thev range from an award of achievement from the Film Industry In-dustry Advisory Board of Hollywood, the cities of Miami, Florida and Oklahoma City, and the Governor of Utah to beautiful plaques from Pleasant Grove Junior and Senior High Schools and the Kiwanis Club. One that is especially appreciated by Stewart Beveridge is from Pleasant Grove High School and is inscribed "To the Greatest Viking of Them AIT. At the business meeting of the Kiwanis Club last Saturday Satur-day the faculty and student body of Pleasant Grove High School were named to receive the Club's Annual Achievement Award for their outstanding contributions to the community. The award will include $500 for the school scholorship fund to be awarded to an outstanding student. Previous recipients of the award have been the City Council, Police Department, Depar-tment, Garden Club and several prominent community leaders. Bill Peterson led the group singing, Bill led the pledge to the flag. Gerald Belliston gave the invocation and Louis Gardner the beredic-tion. |
