Show Check Now for Early Mailing Dates for Xmas Postmaster Robert Cornaby warned patrons of the postal system that mailing dates to insure arrival at destination in time for Christmas were already in effect, and during the month of November other dates were corning up which will make arrival of mail and packages doubtful. November 1 to Nov. 25 contains con-tains several dates for International Inter-national and Military mail to places outside the United States. Those who have' missionaries or servicemen overseas should check with the post office to get the latest date they can mail. The period from Nov. 25 to Dec. 14 is a period when airmail air-mail to outside the United States should be also mailed. For some surface mail also, Alaska and Hawaii are included in-cluded in this date period. Starting Dec. 14, domestic letters and cards to Alaska and Hawaii, and military letters let-ters and cards to the Caribbean Carib-bean and West Indies and to Iceland are included, and Dec. 16 is the last date for priority mail to Alaska and Hawaii. If there is any question about mail arrival before Christmas, mail early. If you need help with an individual place to mail, contact the postoffice. A copy of the 1977 Holiday Mailing Dates will be displayed so that those who mail overseas can make an evaluation for themselves and not disappoint someone with late mail. |
