Show PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH THURSDAY, AUGUST 5, 1976 THURSDAY A,,r,,T PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW. Pleasant Grove City Council Met Tuesday Evening (Continued from page u Lindon Disposal Service, met with the council to inform the council that he needs to charge more for garbage pickup. He explained the increased costs of operation and noted that he is not presently covering his costs with the amounts he is being paid by the city. When asked what he felt he would need to receive for his service, he in-dicated that about $2.50 per month would be required. It was noted that to cover city expenses of billing the monthly amount would have to be about $2.85. The council reviewed this request with Mr. Parker but voted to delay any action on the request until the two coun-cilman absent from the meeting could be contacted and a cost figure be reached based on what the city would have to pay assuming they were to take over the service. It was noted however that Mr. Parker has provided ex-cellent service to the city residents and cooperates well when there are special celebrations and events and when the city changed over to a private service about six years ago, it was deter-mined then that a private business could provide the same service for equal or less money. This decision about the rate increase will be made at the next council meeting. Relative to the signal light planned by the state for High-way 91 and Geneva Road, Councilman Frank Mills reported that he had been in contact with the department of highways and they had in-dicated to him that they hope to start construction on the signal shortly after school begins this fall. No definite time was established but they have in-dicated they will proceed with this project as soon as possible. pliant rmii Skutetu $5.00 y.arly,' 10c .Inal.copy Subscription Rat.
