Show NOTICE OF INTENTION PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 19th day of June, 1975, the Mayor and City Council of Pleasant Grove City, Utah County, Utah, adopted a resolution declaring its intention in-tention to create a special improvement district to be known as "Pleasant Grove City, Utah county, Utah, Special Improvement District No. 75-1". It is the intention of the City Council to make improvements im-provements within Special Improvement District No. 75-1 and to levy special taxes as provided in Chapter 16, Title 10, Utah Code Annotated, 1953, as amended, on the real estate lying within said District for the benefit of which such taxes are to be expended in the making of such improvements. Description of District It is intended that the pioposed Special Improvement District No. 75-1 shall include 500 North Street from 100 East Street to 1200 East Street and all parcels of land and lots abutting both sides of 500 North Street from 100 East Street to 1200 East Street. Intended Improvements The improvements to be constructed within Special Improvement District No. 75-1 include the grading, construction con-struction or reconstruction of curb, gutter, and street paving; the relocation of utilities, the piping of an irrigation ditch and the construction of turnouts, catch basins, box culverts, cross gutters, a syphon and appurtenant facilities. Additional Ad-ditional construction work may be done such as excavation, filling, grading, the removal of trees, non-conforming improvements im-provements and the com- property line of said parcels or lots or to a depth of 12 rods from the centerline of 500 North Street, whichever is the lesser. The purpose of the assessment and levy is to pay the costs of the subject improvements. The method of assessment shall be apportioned according to lineal front footage of abutting lots and parcels of property. The assessments may be paid by property ownerrs in ten (10) annual installments with interest in-terest on the unpaid balance at a rate or rates not to exceed ten (10) percent per annum as fixed by the City Council, or the whole or any part of the assessment may be paid without interest within fifteen (15) days after the ordinance levying the assessment becomes effective. The assessments shall be levied according to the benefits to be derived by each property within the district. Other payment provisions and enforcement en-forcement remedies shall be in accordance with Chapter 16 of Title 10 of Utah Code Annotated, An-notated, 1953. A map of the proposed district, copies of plans, profiles and specifications of the proposed improvements and other related information are on file in the office of the City Recorder who will make such information available to all interested persons. Time for Filing Protests Any person who is the owner of property to be assessed in the special improvement district described in this Notice of Intention shall have the right to file in writing a protest against the creation of Special Improvement Im-provement District No. 75-1 or to make any other objections relating thereto. Protests shall describe or otherwise identify the property owned by tne person or persons making the protest. Protests shall be filed with the City Recorder of Pleasant Grave City, Utah on or before 5:00 o'clock, p.m. on the 23rd day of July, 1975. Thereafter at 7:00 o'clock p.m. on the 23rd day of July, 1975, the City Council will meet in public meeting at the City Hall to consider all protests so filed and hear all objections relating to the proposed Special Improvement Im-provement District No. 75-1. The City's estimated portion will be $12,500.00 and the balance of approximately $51,784.00 shall be paid by a special tax to be levied against the property abutting upon the street to be improved or which may be affected by or specially benefited by such improvements. im-provements. The estimated cost per lineal front foot of property abutting 500 North Street from 100 East Street to 1200 East Street is as follows: Improvement Curb and Gutter: Cost, $5.25 per lineal front foot, each side. Street Paving: Cost, $15.05 per lineal front foot, each side. Utility Relocation: Cost, $7.65 per lineal front foot, each side. Concrete Piping for Ditch Covering: Cost, $4.65 per lineal front foot, each side. Reallocation for Corner Lots, Catch Basins and Miscellaneous General Items and Expense's: Cost, $5.75 per lineal front foot, each side. Total Estimated Cost Per Lineal Front Foot: Cost, $38.35. Less Estimated Adjustment for Anticipated Federal Urban Road Funds and Cities Portion Allocated per Front Lineal Foot: Cost, $34.00. Net Estimated Assessable Cost Per Front Lineal Foot for Each Side of Street: Cost, $4.35. All non-conforming improvements im-provements such as lawns, sprinkling systems, rock gardens, driveways, curbs, sidewalks, wall, fences, trees, asphalt, etc., which are located within the area to be improved shall be removed by the property owners or at their expense prior to construction of . the improvements, and if not so removed, will be removed by the contractor as part of the project and the cost thereof may be assessed against the abutting property in addition to the assessment for other purposes. There shall be an allowance for corner lots to be apportioned ap-portioned as defined and provided for in the ordinance of Pleasant Grove City, Utah, and the laws of the State of Utan. Assessments and Levy of Taxes It is the intention of the City Council of Pleasant Grove, Utah, to levy assessments as provided by the laws of Utah on all parcels and lots of real property abutting 500 North Street from 100 East Street to 1200 East Street to the rear |
