Show Army Reserve Is Good Part Time Job for Young Men Young people looking for part time work should give serious ser-ious consideration to the Army Reserve according to Major Charles W. Akerlow, Recruiting Recruit-ing Officer for the 96th U.S. Army Reserve Command. With the increase in pay in the past few years, the opportunity oppor-tunity for a good paying part time job has never been better. People starting out with no experience ex-perience earn $2.56 an hour. Prior service personnel earn considerably more. Each Reservist will attend regular meetings each month and two weeks each years for annual training. In addition, the Reserve affords young men and women an opportunity . for training in over 300 different skills. Many young people have found the Reserve an ideal way to earn needed extra money to help pay for advanced schooling school-ing or to buy wanted extras, according to Major Akerlow. He further states that the chances of being accepted into the Reserve program have never nev-er been better. Most units have openings that are ready and waiting. Those interested should contact con-tact the local reserve unit in Pleasant Grove, on Locust Ave. or the Recruiting Office, 96th U.S. Army Reserve Command, Fort Douglas. |
