Highway Week is Proclaimed cognized as National Highway Week: NOW THEREFORE, I, Calvin Cal-vin L. Rampton, Governor of the State of Utah do hereby declare September 24-30, 1972 as HIGHWAY WEEK in Utah and urge all ciitzens of the State to consider during this time the vital role of highways high-ways in their daily lives. CALVIN L. RAMPTON Governor National Highway Week is a time for all Americans to devote de-vote some thought to the important im-portant role good highways play in our daily lives. From Sept. 24 to Sept. 30, all Federal, State and local highway officials are encouraging encour-aging you to gain a better understanding un-derstanding of just how important im-portant good highways are to you as a motorist and to you as a consumer of products which, at some time, must travel tra-vel on highways to reach the marketplace. In keeping with the spirit of national observance during this period, Governor Calvin L. Rampton has signed a Declaration Declar-ation which reads as follows: WHEREAS, it has been by experience that the benefits of adequate highways exceed their cost, through reduced accident ac-cident and driving expenses, time saving, enhancement of property values, and encouragement encour-agement of industrial, commercial com-mercial and residential development. devel-opment. WHEREAS, the State of Utah Ut-ah is engaged in an extensive program to upgrade its highway high-way system to meet the needs of its people and of the State's growing economy; and WHEREAS, the constant need for better highways of adequate capacity to satisfy the ever-increasing traffic demands, de-mands, requires the under-tanding under-tanding and support of all our citizens; and WHEREAS, the period of September 24-30 is being re- |
