Show 1971-72 Calendar Approved by Alpsno OisJrict The 1971-72 school year calendar cal-endar has been announced by the Alpine Board of Education. The first day of classes for students in the Alpine District will be Thursday, Aug. 26. Before Be-fore then, however, principals in the district will hold a work-op work-op on Aug. 13, 19, and 20, and teachers will hold orientation sessions, an institute and faculty fac-ulty meetings Aug. 23 to 25. Days when school will be closed in the district have been listed on the calendar. The first time off students will get will be Labor Day Holiday, Monday Sept. 6. Children in the district will have two 'days off, Thursday Thurs-day and Friday, Oct. 7 and 8, while teachers attend the Utah Education Association Convention. Conven-tion. Schools will be closed for the deer hunt pn Monday, Oct. 25. The next break will come on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 25 and 26, the Thanksgiving recess. re-cess. Christmas vacation will start at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Thurs-day, Dec. 23, and children will be back in school on Monday, Jan. 3, 1972. The last day of the fall semester is Jan. 21. Only two breaks are scheduled sched-uled for the spring semester. Schools will be closed Monday, Feb. 21 in observance of Washington's Wash-ington's birthday, and from 3:30 p.m. on April 5 until April 10 for spring recess. |
