Show Drivers Course for Adults Set for Utah Trade Tech Utah Technical College at Provo started a new driving course on Monday, March 1, for adults who have never driven before. Although the organizing session for the course was held March 1, pros-pecitve pros-pecitve enrollees may still join by Monday, March 8, and begin be-gin the course. Utah law now requires that an approved driver education course be taken before initial issuance of a driver's license. The Utah Tech course fill this requirement. The course is open to anyone any-one not attending high school who is at least 17 years of age. High school students are taken care of in driving training courses in their various high schools. The Utah Tech course consists con-sists of 15 class periods of two hourse each, plus actual behind - the - wheel training on the road. Successful graduates will be qualified to apply and take the regular tests for their state drivers license. The instructor is Lynn Asay, veteran driver training instructor instruc-tor at Utah Technical College. Tuition is $40 for the course, which comprises the latest and most thorough techniques of driver training, including simulated simu-lated driving in the mechanical mechani-cal "Drive-O-Trainers" at the school, driving theory, and actually act-ually on-the-road driving with an instructor in dual control cars. |
