J' READY FOR SHOW Getting ready for District Dis-trict 10 Riding Club Meet are Francis Cook, Cedar Valley Riders; Leonard Walker, Sher iff's Posse; Lorraine Hunter, Bridlettes; Jim Green, Roughouts and Boyd Walker, Sheriffs Posse. Show and meet are Friday, Saturday. District 10 Riding Clubs Show To be E-Seld Friday & Saturday Top riders in the District 10 Riding Clubs will perform in outstanding rodeo and drill events at the annual District 10 show Friday and Saturday, Aug. 14 and 15. The events will be held at the Pleasant Grove Rodeo Arena and the American Fork Race Track with the public pub-lic invited to attend. There will be no admission charge. Events will begin Friday at 7 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove arena with the Grand Entry, followed by Men's Western Pleasure class, the first section sec-tion of the ribbon pull, matched pairs, trailer races, team barrel bar-rel race, potato race, first section sec-tion calf roping, team pole bending, ben-ding, Pony Express, first section sec-tion team roping and first section sec-tion cow milking. Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. the action will move to the American Am-erican Fork race track, with the following race events slated: slat-ed: 330 yard, 220 (18) mile, 440 yard, 38 mile, one-half mile, relay race and the exciting ex-citing chariot races. The show will conclude with the Saturday evening events. A street parade will be held in Pleasant Grove at 6 p.m., followed fol-lowed by arena events which will begin with the stirring grand entry. Drills will be performed, per-formed, with precision numbers num-bers and maneuvers executed to show the training of rider and mount. Arena events will begin with cow cutting, women's wo-men's western pleasure class, keyhole race, ladies barrel race, stock horse, parade horse class, single pole bending, second sec-ond section of ribbon pull, the water race, second section of calf roping, second section of team roping and second section sec-tion cow milking. Francis Cook, Cedar Valley, is chairman of the show, with Arnold (Jim) Green as vice chairman and Woneva Myers and Linda Jorgensen secretaries. secretar-ies. Linda Norris and Connie Buck are arena secretaries. Steward Paulick will be show judge and Ken Gillman will be announcer for the show. Head starter is Tom Adamson with Walt Norman head timer and Ron Allen head steward. Participating in the show will be members of the District 10 Riding Clubs, which include the Bridlettes, Cedar Valley Riders, Rid-ers, Lehi Men's Club, American Ameri-can Fork Men's Riding Club, Mt. Timp Riders, Roughouts and the Utah County Sheriff's Posse. |
