X Kt I 1 WILL GO ON MISSION Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Saling will leave this month for the LDS Mission field on full-tim- e mission Farewell Sunday Will Honor Couple Leaving for LDS Mission in Nauvoo Wallace M. Saling and his wife Verland Penrod Saling have been called to serve the LDS Church with the Nauvoo Restoration Incorporated at Nauvoo, Illinois. They will take care of one of the completely restored homes of the early pioneers of Nauvoo and assist in the guide service or help in the information center. A farewell for them will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13,in the Grove Ward at 3:00 p.m. The Nauvoo Restoration In-corporated is a private corpor-ation organized in 1965 with Dr. LeRoy Kimball as president. The object of the corporation is to restore the homes, business houses, etc., of the early pio-neers who lived there prior to abandoning their homes and migrating to the west. Mr. Waling was born at We-ipp- e, Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho with a BS and MS degree in Forestry. He worked for the Forest Ser-vice as a Ranger in Idaho and Utah, and has also worked for Brigham Young University, the Pleasant Grove Canning Co., the Utah State Training School and as custodian of the Bank of Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Saling was born in Boise, Idaho. She has worked for Safeway Stores, Colyear Motor Sales, and at the Am-erican Fork Hospital as a nur-ses aid. She has also been a nurse receptionist for Dr. Ost-ler, Dr. Thompson and Dr. Richens. The Salings have three chil-dren, Wallace, M. Saling Jr., of Annandale, Virginia, Sally Irene Kong of Nephi, Utah and Larry Deen Saling, Salt Lake City. Both of the Salings have ser-ved in numerous capacities in both church, club and civic or-ganizations both before com-ing to Pleasant Grove, and in the years they haves been here The Salings plan a two-yea- r mission at Nauvoo. |
