Show Legion Auxiliary Holds Opening Meeting for Year Members of Unit 70 American Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary held their 1970-71 opening meeeting at the home of their newly-elected president, Donna Walker of Lindon, Thursday, Sept. 27. Mrs. Walker introduced her activity ac-tivity chairmen for the year as follows : Phyllis Thomson, Americanism; American-ism; Madge Peterson, Child Welfare ; LaVon Anderson, Civil Civ-il Defense; Community Service, Serv-ice, Ida Devey; Education and Scholarship, Reva Ahman; Foreign For-eign Relations, Beth West. Girls State, Eva Adams; Gold Star Mothers, Florence Holt; Legislation, Lucile Walker; Rehabilitation, Re-habilitation, May Jensen; Music, Mus-ic, Pearl McMillan; Publicity, Lela Banks, and Programs, Emily Pedersen. Elodia Goss spoke to the members relative to opportunities opportun-ities for service at the Veterans Veter-ans Hospital and in the Field Service. Girls State 1971 was discussed discuss-ed and its motives explained by Eva Adams, chairman, and May Jensen, chairman of rehabilitation re-habilitation told of the work at Utah State Hospital, Provo, and asked all to assist. Music chairman Pearl McMillan Mc-Millan introduced Jean McMillan, McMil-lan, and Inez Marchbanks, who sang a medley of numbers. They were accompanied by Donna Gillman. Refreshments were served by co-hostesses Pearl McMillan, Thelma Adamson, Margaret Atwood, Sadie Beck and Geneva Gen-eva Dal ton. Gertrude Richards introduced introduc-ed Marie Cox as a new Unit 70 member. |
