Show Christmas Mailing Instructions Given Overseas Parcels The following periods have been designated for mailing Christmas parcels to members of the armed forces overseas, according to Robert Cornaby, Pleasant Grove postmaster. 1. Surface transportation, October Oc-tober 13 to Nov. 8. 2. SAM (space available parcel par-cel airlift) Oct. 20 to Nov. 22. 3. PAL October 27 to Nov. 29. 4. Airmail, Dec. 1 to Dec. 12. Thes term "Armed Forces Overseas" includes personnel of the Armed Forces, members mem-bers of their families and U.S. civilians employed overseas who receive their mail through an APO, FPO, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle. All articles should be packed in boxes of wood, metal, solid fiberboard, or strong double-faced double-faced corrugated fiberboard. All fiberboard boxes should be securely wrapped in heavy paper, pap-er, which materially strengthens strength-ens the package. Each box should be tied with strong cord. Sufficient cushioning material should be used to prevent any rattling or loosening of articles within the package. Unless tightly filled boxes may be crushed. A slip showing list of contents and name and address of sender and adressee should be enclosed in the parcel.
