Officers were elected as fol-lows: Barbara Davis, presi-dent; Vickie Barney, vice pres-ident; Mollie Wright, secretary and Julie Poulson, reporter. Other members are Annette Lewis, Wendy Fordham, Debra Jorgensen, Lorene Hiatt, Becky Jacklin, and Janette Rutledge. Diane Barney is their leader. The club is taking second year cooking and having fun experiences. ' i , .V.. ; MISS CAROL DUTSON Carol Dutson Will Marry Carl W. Ringger June 20 Dr. and Mrs. K. A. Dutson of Spanish Fork announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Carol, to Carl W. Ringger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Ring-ger of Pleasant Grove. The marriage will be solemn-ized in the Salt Lake LDS Tem-ple on June 20. Following the ceremony the parents of the groom will host a wedding breakfast. A reception will be held that same evening at the Memorial Building in Spanish Fork. Miss Dutson is a graduate of the Spanish Fork High School and LDS Seminary. She is cur-rently employed. Mr. Ringger is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He filled an LDS mission to Austria and is currently attending Brigham Young University. Following their marriage, the couple will reside in Springville funeral Services Held for Infant Monday, June 2 Funeral services for Shaun D. Armitstead, were held Mon-day, June 2 at noon at Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. The infant son of Lynn L. and Bonnie Chamberlain Armit-stead died May 31, in American Fork Hospital of prematurity. The infant was born May 29 in the American Fork Hospital. Survivors include parents, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Armitstead, Pleasant Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Zenneth Chamberlain, Alpine; Mrs. Jane Arm- - itstead. ' :. i MISS ANNA BETH OSCARSON Anna Beth Oscarson, LaMar Mecham Plan Temple Rites for Friday, June 27 Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oscar-so- n of Pleasant Grove are hap-py to announce the engage-ment and forthcoming mar-riage of their daughter Anna Beth to LaMar H. Mecham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orval H. Me-cham of Lindon. The couple have chosen June 27 in the Salt Lake Temple for the wedding. That evening they will be honored at a recep-tion in the garden of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Alroy Gillman. The bride has chosen her sis-ter, Linda Laycock, to serve as matron of honor, with Marvalee Pace, as maid of honor and Shirlee, and Betty Oscarson, Carol Layer and Carolyn Me-cham to serve as bridesmaids. The young couple are both graduates of Pleasant Grove High School and Seminary. While in high school, Mr. Me-cham was active in all sports, serving as Letterman's Club vice president. Miss Oscarson has attended Utah Technical College on a scholarship and is now employ-ed in Orem. Mr. Mecham also attended the Technical College and is presently employed in Provo. Ja-cobson, 555 Beverly Avenue, Orem, announce the forthcom-ing marriage of their daughter Connie, and Kent Barnhart, the son of Mr and Mrs. Rolland Barnhart, 165 South 200 East, Pleasant Grove. The marriage will take place Thursday, June 12 at 6 p.m. in the Orem 9th Ward Center, 590 North 900 West, with Bishop Paul Larsen officiating. An open house honoring the young couple will be held there also, the same evening from 8 until 10 p.m. Following their marriage, Kent and Connie will make their home in Pleasant Grove. The bride-ele- is a graduate of Orem High School. The groom to be graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and has served three years in the U.S. Army, one year of which was in Vietnam. Js I J MISS CHRISTINE MAY Christine May and Danny Nielson to Marry on June 13 Mr. and Mrs. R. Bruce May of American Fork announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Christine and Daniel (Danny) Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. Nielson of Pleasant Grove. The couple will exchange marriage vows in the Salt Lake Temple on Friday, June 13. A reception will be held that evening honoring them at the Second-Sevent- h Ward Chapel, 130 West 1st South, from 8 to 10 p.m. All friends and rela-tives are invited to attend. The bride-ele- ct is a gradu-ate of American Fork High School, where she was active in G.A.A. and served as senior class representative. She is a four-yea- r graduate of the LDS Seminary, and at present is serving as Junior Sunday School secretary. The prospective groom is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and a graduate of the LDS Seminary. At the pres-ent time he is coaching and pitching for the Pleasant Grove Third Ward Softball team. He is now employed by the Robert Holdaway Construction Co. of Pleasant Grove. Firemen, Wives Complete 8th Self-He- lp Lesson Firemen and their wives met jointly for their eighth lesson on Medical Self Help Monday, May 26. Reese Blackhurst showed a film on moving and transporting the injured and gave special instructions and demonstrations on proper pro-cedures. President Naomi Keetch ex-pressed appreciation for the fine support received on the an-nual breakfast and thanked all present for their help and co-operation. Special thanks was given to Ruth Cobbley, who made beautiful aprons for all 26 firemen and their wives. Blaine and Audrey Swenson were presented a gift for sell-ing the most tickets. June Fenton, secretary, gave a financial report on the pro-ceeds from the breakfast. Four firemen and their wives Mr. and Mrs. Don Fenton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marrott, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Thome and Mr. and Mrs. Glade Hilton at-tended the state convention at St. George recently. They re-ported it was outstanding and urged more to attend another year. Refreshments were served at the meeting by JoAnn Gibson, Lucille Walker and Maybelle Mills. George Smith Is Recovering, Will Be Home Soon George Smith, who was ser-iously injured in an industrial accident four weeks ago, in Orem, is improving in the Utah Valley Hospital after several complications. He wishes to ex-press thanks to relatives, fel-low workers and friends for their concern, inquiries and prayers in his behalf. George lost part of one leg and has the other one in a cast up to his hips. He also received head and shoulder injuries when a steel beam rolled off a truck at the construction site. He is in good spirits and is looking forward to returning to his home in the near future, although it will be six months or more that he will be con-fined to a wheel chair. HOSPITAL NEWS Among babies born at the American Fork Hospital during the week ending May 31, 1969 included the following from the Pleasant Grove area: May 27, a boy to W. Brent and Connie Rhodes Bullock. May 27, a girl to David F. ad Lucille Ormond Shoell. May 28, a girl to Clifton W. and Mary Lou Gurr Asay. May 30, a boy to Leonard and Loretta Carter. Other patients at the hos-pital from this area included: Beatrice Camp, Orea Mad-se- Ray Pulley, Odessa Atkin-son, Max M. Baker, Guy L. Sorensen, Craig Frazier, Mary Lou Larsen, Kenneth Jarvis, Terri Lynn Morgan, Beth K. McNees, and Keely Ann Taylor. Merrill Hones Have New Baby in Nevada Mr. and Mrs. Merrill D. Hone of Las Vegas, are the proud parents of an 8V2 lb. baby boy born on May 20. The baby has two other brothers, Kent, 5 and Chad, 2 years old. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rulon J. Hone of Pleasant Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Anton Gleason of Provo. |
