Show Mothers Study Club Meets at Jensen Home for Interesting Club Meeting the Mothers Study Club held their October meeting at the home of Mae and Irwin Jensen. Jen-sen. Beautiful chrysanthemums from the garden of Alice Simper Sim-per decorated the living room. Vice president Maud Richards Rich-ards conducted the meeting and welcomed the guests. Nora Macfarlane read the collect. Co-hostess with Mrs. Jensen was Ida West. She introduced the program, which was given by Mrs. DeVonna Collier, who is an authority on books for children as well as modern and ancient literature. She related interesting experiences in her life and the events that gave her the incentive to pursue in her field of endeavor. Mrs. Collier also reviewed the life of Ann Carrol Moore, the first person to conceive the idea of a children's library a-part a-part from the main public library. li-brary. She trained librarians and planned the physical surroundings sur-roundings for childrens' interests, inter-ests, then she reviewed hundreds hun-dreds of books, in order to select sel-ect the very best. Mrs. Collier and Miss Moore worked together to-gether to bring this knowledge to the schools and libraries of Utah. After this delightful and informative in-formative program, the hostesses hos-tesses served a delicious tray luncheon to Geneva Warnick, Arvilla Harvey, Edna Newman, Nora Macfarlane, Maud Richards, Rich-ards, Estelle Fenton, Lucille Walker, Emma Overlade, Kate Jacobs, Eva Adams, Lydia Hilton, Hil-ton, Oral Wright and guests, Madge Christensen and Alice Simper. |
