Show Judge Reports Light Activity for May, Police Are Busy with Many Activities The month of May was a light 31 days, as far as activity act-ivity in the Pleasant Grove City Court was concerned. City Judge Keith Anderson report- ed only 25 cases heard and only on-ly $211 colected in fines and forfeitures. Motorists seemed to be driving driv-ing with more care and caution. cau-tion. Only 22 traffic caes were handled and 12 of these were for non-moving violations. The traffic breakdown was as follows: fol-lows: No safety inspection, 12; speeding, 2; illegal parking, 2; improper lookout, 1; running stop sign, 1; improper passing, pass-ing, 1; no driver's license, 1; failure to yield, 1; driving under un-der the influence, 1; Total traffic traf-fic cases, 22. Non-traffic cases totaled only on-ly 3; small claims, 2 and contempt con-tempt of court, 1. From all of the cases handled, three were dismissed and two convicted persons were committed to the Utah County Jail. Police Action Despite the below average calendar of the City Court, members of the Police Department Depart-ment were active during May, 1968. Herewith are a few of their day and night investigations: investiga-tions: Thievery at local motel; people using rooms without registering. Customer beats $4.20 bill at Cafe. Woman reports re-ports prowler in back yard. Boy missing for two days; took him home. Fire left burning burn-ing at Lumber Yard; called the manager. No problem at dance, after all. Family fight at north-east section. Boys shooting water guns at show house. Family fight at tavern parking lot. High wind blows down signs and tree branches. Took three girls for a polygraph test. A.F. mother asked to have her car and son picked up. We did. Picked up two women trying to beat a "coffee bill" at local safe. Another polygraph; poly-graph; boy this time. Picked up a stolen car for Orem. owner. own-er. School boy has black powder pow-der in possession. Very quiet; kids all on "G" Mountain . Kids reported running run-ning over building roof. Woman reported boy friend beat her up; told her to sign a complaint. com-plaint. Vandals put garbage in laundromat machine. Woman reported twelve-year-old son missing; found him asleep under un-der his bed. Spent about 3 hours cooling a family fight. Small boy hit by rock thrown by high schooler. A lot of students riding around after graduation. Prowler breaks window at Stake Dance. Served eviction on renters "in arrears." Woman asked us to watch her son, who was going to elope.. Man left his car as security for unpaid motel bill; he came back after dark and stole the car. |
