circle carcle ville maternal and child health maternal health conference mothers confer conferences ancess are held monthly in marysvale Marys Mary vale lavale and circle ville the mothers in junction and kingston attend the circle ville conference these conferences are now being conducted by one nurse according to the present enrollment one nurse conference has proven very satisfactory is maternal cases are under treatment an effort has been made to carry out general health supervision tor for all these cases number admitted to nursing service 5 number of field visits 36 35 number of office there was a potential danger pt typhoid lever fever epidemic due to the contamination of the culinary water supply A typhoid immunization clinic was carried throughout the county a total ot per were immunized number admitted to nursing fer bervice vice 11 number field nursing dursin 17 dental health beginning january 1941 a corrective dental program tor for pre preschool and prenatal pre pie natal mothers was started under the supervision ot of dr R C dalgleish director ot of dental donta health since plute county had no dentist it necessitated these people traveling long distances to obtain the service of ai a dentist which proved a handicap to the program as a whole we also feel eel that the lack of proper education tion and publicity of this program was a cause of 0 its failure the program was discontinued july 18 1941 since this time a survey wab made in order to obtain information concerning the advisability of again starting this pro grant glam avery A deiy complete plan lias has been carefully caie lully outlined and it Is hoped that this program will prove satisfactory for those who are aie eligible toi for this service A class in home nursing apons sponsored ored by the american red cross was taught in antimony where seven certificates were given several mothers started this class who were unable to complete it due to illness and poor pooi means of transportation volunteer lay workers service sell ice in tb the e past year a more active volunteer workers service has been organized in the communities where in the past displayed little interest six classes were given to workers A large enough group in each community has been organized so that the service can be rotated not making it over burdensome tor for any one person with exception of 0 antimony much more cooperation has been given by the relief solety society c we deeply appreciate the tine fine help these women have given us outstanding needs need and problems to td be met in pluto county a from the public health standpoint tand point the most prevalent existing problems are 1 faulty posture 2 poor nutrition 3 dental health and education b there Is a definite need for a higher percentage ot of immunizations among tho the high school and adult population c it Is hoped that in the coming year a larger and more workable lay volunteer workers service can be established to
