Show JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL The games last week, as a whole were much faster than the previous pre-vious games and fewer errors were committed by the teams. Copperton started the week off by taking a highly exciting game from Highland Boy by the score of 10 to 4. Only four errors were committed in the entire game. The work of Kendell with the bat and Harker was worthy of mention. men-tion. Both boys played excellent ball for Copperton while Mullett was the outstanding player for the young Highland Boy team. In the next game, Lark surprised sur-prised critics by taking a close game from the highly touted Copperfield Cop-perfield team. The score was 8 to 7. Koukles started on the mound for Copperfield but was removed in the third and Fish took his place. But neither pitcher pit-cher could stop the heavy barrage bar-rage of hits and tbe inning finished fin-ished with Lark way in the lead. Copperfield tried vainly in the remaining re-maining innings to overcome the early lead, but they didn't seem to be able 1o get behind their pitchers enough. In the Thursday game, Harker for Copperton and T. Carrigan for Frogtown conducted a pitchers pitch-ers battle. This game was by far the best game in the Junior League. Lea-gue. Copperton lead through the entire fray until the seventh in-ninp. in-ninp. Whitten the first man tip struck out and the Copperton infield in-field weakened. Hansen, hit a hard liner to Kendell who muffed muf-fed it and Hansen went to second. sec-ond. T. Carrigan the pitcher singled to the left fielder, putting (Hansen on third base, Huebner flashy little substitute for the Frogs hit a nice liner to the right |
