Show ASKING FOR PLENTY it seems that the groups who are working so hard to get the national government into the role of national educator also are asking for a little too much at the present time with our government going into debt millions of dollars dollare every day to further the war effort it seems like asking a little too much to fake on a portion of the expense of supporting our educational system also and especially at the time when most states are boasting ol of surpluses and laying away money for the future postwar post war programs after all what makes it so imper alive for the national government to aid in our educational program dont it get its money through taxation the same as do states counties arid other taxing units and dont all the people pay those taxes in the end or is our educational group just trying to pry open another source of revenue which has remained practically untapped up to now if we take it for granted that there is inadequate school funds why cant the needed increase be raised in local taxing districts rather than go howling bawling to our national administration which has its hands full now and only the people to look forward to for its revenues and to those of us who feel that bureaucracy has already gotten to big a hold on the nation it should be more obnoxious it would probably mean another bureau sa say Y of education proponents of th the idea might calim that all the government would have to do would be to turn the money over to the states and it would be distributed from there I 1 but our national government going to and put money out without some way of krio knowing wing where it is going and for what it is being spent in other words an organization would be drawn up to see how it is being aan administered and therefore you have another bureau in washington and washington bureaus have proven that they arent as efficient in the administration of public funds as are 0 organizations closer to home whenever we ask for added tune bunc tons from our government functions function which cost money all they can do is go 90 into nto the tax barrel to boget oget the funds to support said function we just cant got something for nothing as much as some p people eople would like to have us believe |
