Show STUDENTS entertained AT 11 A C CANYON rancel another tradition had its incao tm at the B A AC C wm when the he mile entire student body and faculty spent rr friday afternoon and evering evening at the newly acquired canyon reach ranch about ten miles up cedar canyon the afternoon was spent pla playing i as soft it ball with student and hie faculty tilty to teams participating and planned hikes under the direction at parley dalecy end and A W stephenson StaPhen sun were taken several trails to high eleve eleva wons were mere outlined and plans con to improve them so that an annual moonlight hike by the stu dent body might become one of the traditions of the college the exist exen ing was spent abou arou around it the campt carattin where a hot dimner was served bad and stunts and brogam mun numbers manbert bert were given by students and faculty by 1 and mrs mos J S prestwich member of the board of trustees and chi chairman of the B A C committee were war special apeci I roost guests the committee for the outing con am buted of gram grace tucker way wane he cook henry if hizen cooley T donald bell eugene hardy and eileen erickson all members of the faculty the canyon ranch much of some 2600 acres acreal of choice mountain ground has hag recently bee been acquired by the college to provide range for the ex experimental work on im range bang and sheep management A herd of sheep on an experimental basus basis and under the direct supervision of dr bell has been grazing the area this summer un romi and experimental work on a care of the range under the direction of prof prod wayne cook has beer been a vital part of the experimental program this summer th this project hes has had the close cooper cooperation atrom of the he outstanding sheep operators of the region end and the US AC experimental peri par mental station tion and it valuable information is expected as a result a these experiments |
