Show DAY FARMS TO CARRY ON I 1 INTENSIVE FEEDING PROGRAM W scott day of the day farms tells us that he is making eions to carry on an extensive live I 1 stock feeding program this winter as a means of marketing the large amount of feed being grown on that farm this summer j ile he has purchased head of yearling steers from E ray lyman and they will be delivered soon or in time to harvest some of the large acreage of corn being frown there this year and also cash in on some of the pasture about the farm 1500 head of lambs are also being purchased and will be put on pasture soon after they come down from the mountains scott reports that the farm has produced plenty of hay and grain to feed out this many head of livestock with only the purchase of a I 1 few tons of cottonseed cake needed to balance the feeding ration in fact he figures to have around fifty I 1 tons of hay and nearly a thousand bushels of grain left over from his feeding operations it if everything is f favorable avo rable there is enough corn on the farm to much more than fill the large silo and it will be used for pasture when the silo is full in addition to this there is 87 acres of potatoes on the farm some russets and some white rose and 32 acres of carrots which will be marketed the latter through the pacific produce co |
