Show more students wanted at summer music classes the music schedule for the summer at the high school is well under way now however up to the time the attendance t been what it should be according to the instructors this applies especially ally to the wednesday morning classes which are given by mr hal verson and mr manning of the B A C at cedar city As was previously announced mr manning teaches the high high school students in special vocal instruction st from 9 am to 10 am at 10 the ladies above high school age are invited to come for an hour of instruction and enjoyment at 11 children from the ath to ath grades inclusive should come for their instruction up to the present time we w e have had but one lady attend mr mannings class this should be very valuable training for any ladies who sing in the ward choirs or relief society chorus etc mr manning states that he meets 65 people each tuesday in beaver for work with similar vocal groups 18 of whom are mothers of school children so his course must be very worthwhile worth whole it is hoped that the parents will do all they can to encourage their children to attend these respective classes those who have attended will agree that they are worthwhile it is faulty for any of us to think we cannot sing at all if you cannot sing then come and learn how there is great joy and satisfaction in singing and doing it well and this can be done with comparatively little knowledge of fundamentals of singing mr halverson is recognized as one of the finest violin teachers and the violin player of this community can not afford to miss this opportunity port unity for instruction especially since no charge is being made for it will the parents likewise encourage e urage their children who play violins to attend these lessons with mr halverson and not let minor things interfere with them up to the present time mr weight says there have not been enough students attending the band practices on tuesday and friday nights to make them successful also the orchestra practice on monday da y night has not been very well attended the time for these rehearsals has been changed to pm so that those working late will have a better change to get there it is realized that many are working anci ana many are out of town who belong to these organizations and so it is hoped that those who can come will put forth every effort to do d 0 so and not let small sm all and unimportant things keep them away from practice unless more members attend rehearsals I 1 it will be impossible for the band to meet its summer appointments point ments as it hopes to do again we ex extend tend an invitation to any graduates others or others who wish to attend band and orchestra pra practices to do so next tuesday night june at 83 0 the band will practice marching and so all members are urged to be present if they possibly carl can |
