Show county weed project goes into action the iron county noxious weed program started monday in the cedar city area the program this year will be under the supervision of joel C barlow district agricultural inspector the men will spend this week treating white top as it comes up earlier than any other noxious weed eight members of the iron county noxious weed committee met on saturday april 4 to formulate the seasons program members per sent were H L adams roice nelson E N thompson jim anderson fernley gardner henry jones lamont lament E and joel C barlow mr thompson district engineer assured the committee as long as men were available the weed project would be able to get them he even stated that the weed project is considered a defense pro jet and will be given prior consideration as far as available labor is concerned this year an executive committee wainam was named for parowan carowan and cedar valleys H L adams and james C robinson for parowan carowan and roice nelson fernley gardner and henry jones for cedar valley the matter of force in in city limits was discussed and henry jones was asked to meet with the cedar city council and H L adams the parowan carowan council to work out finance in case quara quarantining antin becomes necessary the committee has as its aim this year work of some kind on all known patches of noxious weeds in iron county it will be impossible to eradicate all patches this year but work can be started or control measures practiced the committee solicits the support of all property owners having noxious hicls tiC ls they would a appreciate hav patches reported to any member oi 01 the committee and especially joel C barlow inspector or lamont lament E county agent the sheep men are urged to have their herders gerders flag patches of poison milkweed when they find them on the range lands os that weed crews can find them later for treatment |
