Show CAR THIEVES CAUGHT BECAUSE OF TIP FROM SERVICE STATION OPERATOR two men from an eastern city were picked up in st george wednesday evening in a car stolen in salt lake city as a result of a tip given ray H adams deputy sheriff of iron county by lee russell manager of the parowan carowan shell service the men drove into russells station and purchased a small amount of gasoline and asked for a piece of wire to fasten a license plate on their car russell gave them the wire but noticed the numbers on the front and rear plates correspond suspecting something he called adams who in turn notified sheriff S C lamb at cedar city lamb was unable to stop the car and called sheriff antone B prince of washington county who apprehended them just south of st george after they had run their machine off the road in making a turn at high speed the men are being held in the st george jail awaiting salt lake city authorities in commenting on this adams says many crimes may be averted and many wrong doers apprehended if people will notify local P authorities when they see something or suspect so something methin g is not as it should be thus giving the officers a chance to investigate |
