Show george A lowe dies at home of daughter george alma lowe 88 86 prominent livestock grower and farmer rf ot this community for many years passed away at the home of his daughter mrs lellon B heap here wednesday night at 11 of ailments incident to age mr air lowe has been in rather poor pool health for several months though lie was only confined to his bed for three days before the end come he lias has been at the home of his daughter since the passing of his wife the first of may this year mr lowe was one or 0 the oldest purebred pure bred rambouillet sheep breed MS ers in southern utah having imported the first sheep of this breed in 1901 he was instrumental in organizing gan izing the southern utah rambouillet sheep breeders bleeders Bre eders association and served as its president for several years he was fond of good livestock particularly horses always having fine teams and saddle stock on his farm until the past few years when he was forced to stop farming because of his age he hus has been active in other community affairs and was always a booster for his home town ire he was born in salt lake city january 17 1854 a son sn of john and elizabeth couzens lowe while still a small boy his parents moved to toquerville utah to help helo colonize in that section the family later moved to Pa carowan parowan rowark where M mr lowe has lived ever since he married harriet allen alien december 14 1873 when about 20 years old and 12 children were born to this union ten of whom survive him they are as follows george A jr ernest I 1 alfonsa lowe mrs ada L evans and mrs lepon leon B heap of this city john R low e of springville spring vilie ville utah daniel J lowe of lovell wyoming grant allen alien lowe of salt lake city mrs laura everett of los angeles and mrs deslie lowe anderson of st george he is also survived by 72 grandchildren and 95 great grandchild grand child ren funeral services will be held for him sunday afternoon in the west ward chapel under the direction of dishop bishop T wendell bayles and interment will take place in the city cemetery A detailed account of the funeral will be given in our next issue |
