city defers action for lack of funds action on several matters which came before the city council at its april meeting tuesday night of last week had to be deferred because of temporary lack of f funds this months light and water collections will partly solve the problem but the purchase of street grading equipment quip ment which the city would like and which a representative of the landes company was at the meeting to sell may have to wait some time I 1 the purchase of additional fire hose and even some metal cu lverts which the street supervisor asked forr for roay nay also be delayed but water meters meter boxes pipe etc for several connections to new residences will undoubtedly be ordered as soon as the streets and sidewalks committee can investigate to ascertain definitely whit what is needed S J whitney was instructed to see that the little trees set out on the public square are properly watered and cared for and the supervisor visor was instructed to notify the men who are working on the cemetery fence project that they had better lay off unless they can wait for their pay
