Show 0 red cross drive to begin monday nov 13 drive chairman names canvassers gives tentative budget for and tells of work done in chapter during past year fred A lewis chairman of the red cross drive in parowan carowan announces that the campaign for members in this community will begin early monday morning with the hope that the quota allotted might be reached by night of the same day the quota for this city is set at members and the town has been divided into sections with enough canvassers chos en to cover each one in a if few ew hours following group of people have hav e be been en chosen by mr lewis to ti work with him in putting the drive over fae N benson barbara M adams berta burton eulala T orton mary 0 mary adams mary dalton alice C mitchell alice lyman gay S lewis melita fenton kenneth matheson jack gurr david richards lee russell chas I 1 sampson clair hulet arthur joseph ray lyman and scott mitchell irive headquarters will be located at the postoffice post office and any person not contacted by one of the above canvassers will be able to get a membership there the tentative budget for 1939 40 for the iron county chapter is as follows home service relief first aid stations 20 0 home hygiene production swimming 70 00 medical work roll call office and conference expenses 40 00 miscellaneous 2000 TOTAL the following is a summary of diat what has been accomplished in this county by the red cross during the past year enrolled of the population the highest percentage of any of the 35 chapters in utah conducted 3 first aid courses 57 passed the standard course maintained 3 first aid Sta stations station tiow where 12 serious accidents and ld los cp minor cases were helped two classes in home hygiene were taught with membership of 19 1 several pairs of sox and son some 1 sweaters were knitted and chr christmas i st I 1 bags were made for disabled veterans the schools enrolled stu dents in jr red cross an educational campaign was conducted against farm and home accidents and self ins pectin blanks were sent out to homes I 1 six disabled war veterans were given help more than 20 persons were aided with medical emergencies involving teeth tonsils ton sils and glasses was spent in this work which represented only partial cost at reduced rates twenty five dollars was sent to chile for relief |
