Show DEATH BRINGS RELIEF BELIEF TO AUNT SARAH ORTON after an illness of about nine weeks death resulting from general debility brought rel relief lefto to sarah taylor orton orion familiarly known to practically the entire community as aunt sarah on tuesday morning of this week at about 1016 1015 As the end was not unexpected her three daughters were with her as they have been most of the time during her illness to do all within human power to relieve her suffering and minister to her ivery every want perfectly rational until the end came she nevertheless buffered considerably during the last few days so that death was truly a relief born in arnold nottinghamshire Notting hamshire england on october 22 1843 the daughter of george and wary mary smith taylor she came to america with her mother and other members of the fam lly fly when she was 18 years yeara ot of age her father and her brother thomas having come a year earlier they came to parowan carowan when she was 21 years old and in october of the next ceaf she was married to alexander orton since that time she has resided continuously in this city sha ab was the the mother of six children a boy and five girls three of whom together with her husband parents two brothers and a sister have preceded her to the better life surviving her are her daughters ellen ada and hannah her sister mrs hannah Illic kleson and several grand and great grand children during her lifetime she was a devoted member ot of the mormon church and tor for many years was one of the relief society teachers recently she was awarded a prize lor for being the oldest active member of the relief society here being at that time over eighty two years old funeral services were held tor for her this afternoon in the tabernacle with bishop marsden maraden pye presiding siding the speakers were john P orton 11 II L adams S A matheson john AV bentley and bishop marsden all ot of whom hom spoke in terms of praise for the splendid life and character of the departed one the singing was furnished hy by members ibern b er a of the choirs of both wards conducted by L J adams special numbers were a quartet by W clair rowley and rex ward mrs glenna ward and mrs ida burton the opening prayer was offered by mr anthony paxton and the closing one me by david matheson |
