Show RELEASE COMES TO MRS ANN WARD mi funeral services were held on oil friday las last t at two 0 clocks P in tor for mrs ann ward who departed from this life in m wednesday afternoon about the speakers were mr and mrs L N marsden mr john stevens and mr wilford day all of whom spoke in terms of praise of the departed and offered words of comfort and solace lace to the bereaved ones A special musical number was a double mixed quartet by geo H durham the opening prayer was offered by charles adams and the closing prayer was by david beathe matheson son there was a profusion of beautiful floral offerings mrs ward has suffered from poor health to quite an extent for about four years and death came as a release from that condition there were times during the four years when she felt pretty good and others when it looked like death was inevitable just juht prior to her passing she had suffered considerably for about a week but had bad eaten a good supper the before and gone to bed apparently feeling better she was born in england on sept 23 1840 which made her little more than a month less than eighty three years of age As a child she worked in a cotton factory where she saved sufficient money to pay her way across the ocean she came across the plains in captain peter gebec kers company in 1863 walking all the way and was married to mr edward ward in 1864 in the endowment house in salt lake city she is survived by two sons Bless rs william G and silas J ward both of this city and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren an only daughter having died as a attle girl on behalf of the cow community we extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved ones in their time of sorrow |
