Show POST ADOPTS SCOUT TROOP new jersey boys aided by ex mens organization enjoy field day program A boy scout troop composed of newsboys of trenton N J was formally adopted by the elkins oliphant post of the american legion the boa bois took great interest in their scout work landwere and were particularly intent ov on joining to in the annual scout field day I 1 which was to be hold bold on an island in ID I 1 the river but it if the boss bos left their posts I 1 throughout the day it meant considerable financial loss to them so they turned to the legion men for help the legionnaires solved the problem in a very happy way tor for all concerned enlisting the aid of a local newspaper a special legion edition was arranged on the day of the meet and the post members took oer the boys routes and corners the lads lada were promised the full amount of their regular earnings with the understanding that any money over would go to the scout fund to purchase uniforms for the troop citizens of trenton supported the edition and was wa earned tor for the fund in the meantime the boys were down on n the river passing scout tet tests and other wl enjoying themselves |
