Show H N EDGAR CLARK ENDS USEFUL 1111 parents crossed great plains in 1848 went to san bernardino in 1849 and landed in parowan carowan valley in 1858 1 beautiful and impressive funeral services were held over the remains remains of edgar L dark clark last wednesday afternoon at at the L D S tabernacle sylvester jones I 1 I 1 of enoch offered the opening prayer charles adams morgan richards L N marsden and william H lyman were the speakers all spoke in glowing terms of the departed they had veen peen closely associated socia ted with him in his walks of life and were able to relate many interesting incidents in his life i which has been one of uprightness service and honest endeavor beautiful musical selections were rendered under the direction of prof Dur durham liam the benediction cne diction was offered by thomas D adams edgar L L clark was born at winter quarters omaha nation now florence nebraska on april ath th 1848 8 he was a son of daniel P dark and sarah at hakes dark clark his family crossed the plains the same year edgar a babe in his mothers arms on their way to utah in 1849 they joined a company of saints to settle at san bernardino california where they remained until the fall of 1857 the colony having baving been called back to utah owing to the johnstone army episode they arrived in parowan carowan in february 1858 making this their permanent manent home until the death of both parents and up to the present time on one occasion occasion when cheri mr dark clark was in the east on a business trip he visited the spot as near as could be ascertained where lie he was born in florence mr dark clark was prominent in business circles here having been postmaster president of our bank president of the parowan carowan al AT co and a member of the school board for a number of years lie he also filled a term in the legislature I 1 in all these positions he gave entire satisfaction his judgment on most all questions was found to be sound and reliable he was very much devoted to his family one wife mary alary jane roberts dark clark is long since departed and nellie mcallister dark clark survives survives him as do the following children mary alary E E C orton and dorothy C ward of the first marriage two of this family olivia C jones and ella C robinson having died some years ago of th the c second family three children are left to mourn his loss edgar alice and saunders |
