Show NO MORE FREE PAPERS the war industries board says that hereafter you must discontinue a giving copies to anybody ex except e 0 p t for office working copies or wh where e r e required by statute law in the case of official advertising discontinue giving free copies to advertisers except not more than one copy each for checking purposes discontinue all free exchanges 1 this means that the times hereafter will have to cease sending coding the paper to missionaries free as aso baber been een the custom and we will ask all parents of missionaries if they wish the paper to go to their sons sona to pay the subscription price of 2 00 per year vear it mesa means also that we will be compelled in to cut off all our oar exchanges this we hate to do but inasmuch as abut uncle sam say saya a to do 0 so we will obey oa hence hance if our or newspaper friends fail to receive A copy of the times after this week we trust they will not be offended as it is not our fault the government too is now preparing to place a war tax on every subscription which we will have to pay consequently will have to ask all subscribers who are arc in arrears to pay up else we will be unable to pay the war tax and thus get into trouble or have to discontinue sending the times to those in arrears if there are any subscribers who do not want the paper we trust they will notify us so that we may at at least save the cost of the paper and postage this ruling of cutting off all ex changes and free papers is not of our making but of the government officials and must be lived up to by every newspaper in the united states state |
