Show ENOCH NOTES feb 16 1917 last friday evening a party was w given in the enoch hill hall in honor honorof mr and mrs mra benjamm benjaman perkins ot of monticello who are visiting here at t present most moo t of f the evening wu was ap spent at in t the he ol 01 old d time dances which were very lively the music beni being a furnished by john lee jones and company musical numbers number such buch as quartets duets etc were rendered occasionally giving the people little chance to rest between one of the pleasing features of the evening was the comic songs rendered by uncle ben as beis familiarly called here which brought forth much laughter and applause A jolly social time was had by all al present mr and mrs E H ryan of cedar city were in attendance at the party on saturday evening a rousing farewell party was tendered to eldon june jones who is about to leave for idaho where he will make his bar future home singing games and dancing were indulged in and air afi abundance of excellent refreshments refreshment were served bp C E jones occupied a short time in which he told of the many rood good and noble traits of 0 our young brother and expressed a deep feeling of regret that th the enoch ward should loose so faithia a member mr jones though young in years haur has been an earnest worker in the dine reut organization h here ere he was secretary of the sunday school for several years and has held the position posit ion of ward clerk far the past three years his hia future occupation will be that of far farming muir having closed the deal on a farm while visiting in idaho last october he leaves with hearty good wishes of the entire ward for his future success his grand brand parents mr and mrs joseph armstrong of ceder cedar were present at the party the members of the board of the th iron county telephone co came out aut to meet with the people at the close of the services and discussed the telephone proposition we have not yet learned what conclusion they arrived at we had a most interesting meeting ing yesterday afternoon the speakers er were ere prea wilford day coun conn henry jones brother joseph peak and joseph armstrong |
