McKay in which he said To live is isto isto isto to have joy Mrs Gabbott reported that she had taken takena a cash contribution and boxes of jam and jelly to Boys' Boys Ranch as a club Christmas project The group sang Winter Wonderland accompanied by Mrs Robert Carlson MRS WALTER Moss introduced introduced introduced intro intro- Mrs Floyd Hogan wife of recently retired Lt Col Floyd Hogan who gave the lesson for the day The Life of a Service Man and His Family The travels of the Hogan family covered thousands thousands thousands thou thou- sands of miles The Hogans and their six children traveled in many parts of the world and after 30 years in the service Lt Co Col Hogan retired and brought his family to live in Bountiful IllS HIS CAREER in the service began before his marriage to Jean Hess of Farmington After marriage he decided to tomake tomake tomake make a career of the service Areas of service were Hill Air Force Base Utah Montgomery Montgomery Montgomery Mont Mont- gomery Ala Guam The United Nations New York City Sacramento Calif five years in Oslo Norway Great Falls Montana 1 Korea two years and Madison Wis Their children were born during these years and as they became school age they attended school wherever they were One daughter attended high school in Norway and others in Korea They had to traVel many miles to get getto getto getto to school so of necessity were away from home for six days and at home one day during the school year THEY MET the people in each community and mingled with them in their social life While in Norway and Korea they learned the language and Mrs Hogan taught English English English Eng Eng- lish to the women's groups Mrs Hogan felt these years were well spent in a worthy and noble cause She expressed expressed expressed ex ex- ex- ex pressed pleasure in being able to retire in a community like Bountiful SHE SHOWED beautiful art objects from Korea Some were centuries old She was wearing a blue dress presented to her by her Korean women friends whom she said were very generous The world was their home and duty at the United Nations Nations Nations Na Na- was an outstanding experience experience experience ex ex- Mrs 1 Hogan said REFRESHMENTS were served ed and club adjourned to meet the second Saturday in February ary |
