Show THAT UNO LUND ROAD PM petition will be presented Pre entel to commissioners asking for its completion the times is in receipt of information from nada and other parts of the northern end of the county that a strong petition will be presented to the commissioners Commissi onera soon asking that a road between here and lundbe lund be made possible for travel at an early date as possible it has been pointed out that tho the money necessary has been collected by taxation and that it was at ono one time quite recently ordered by the pr proper oper officials expended on the road mentioned when road commissioner 11 II M hendrickson was about ready to begin operations he received word to wait awhile and it was presumed that the reason was because of the regular semiannual semi bemi annual talk of a railroad from lund via cedar to washington county now the time being again passed for the regular semiannual semi annual newspaper railroad talk the question again comes up about the building of the lund parowan carowan road and the people living in the towns mentioned as well as other places adjoining them have decided to petition strongly for the completion of the road this coming spring by the building of this road the people here would have a better chance to get to the railroad than they now have and would save considerably sider ably money not only in tho the way of passenger traffic but in freight traffic as well it would also mean that the people living at nada and vicinity could come to the county seat at far less expense than they can now at present chev must go to lund then to cedar city and on to parowan carowan Pa rowan when necessary to attend to business at the county seat when once the road to lund from parowan carowan is made these same people can come in an hour or two and do the business they desire without having to travel over an extra 25 miles then again it is understood that probably the government will change the mail route from lund via parowan carowan Pa rowan instead of via cedar as is now the case which would make a continuous circuit from lund to st george and could be operated at considerable less expense to the tha government this would mean that the division post postoffice office lice would bo be at parowan carowan instead of cedar which should ve DC the case we trust that parowan carowan ciLi citizens zent will see the necessity of prompt and energetic action in urging the commissioners and state dickals dici als to have the road referee to completed at the first possible moment the corn coin ing spring the commercial club should get busy it should arke upright now because there ii i othur other business of a pressing nature to attend to besides the building of the lund parowan carowan road |
