| Show KILL THE RABBITS BABBITS kill the rabbits cry the farmers but how shall that be accomplished many of our farmers have been fighting them for months but only to see the pests increase in number until this fall one is led to believe that there are hundreds of thousands more than there were a year ago every means means within the knowledge of men hereabouts has been tried by which the pests could be eliminated but without avail and several farmers have lost nearly the whole of their crops through dep predations of the jack rabbits poison has been used practically without success it is said that the rabbits will not touch bait made from salt clouer and strychnine because of the salty character of the land and forage in this county farmers claim that the rabbits get enough salt from feeding on the various plants to supply them and will not take the bait set for them the only method then it seems to us will be for the people of the various towns of the county to get out this winter and drive the bits wholesale into prepared enclosures and slaughter them with clubs cluba as has been done in long years past it will well be for the farmers to begin planning iniz a campaign of extermination mi this fall and work it out this winter |
