Show United States Ski Team names new board members by Teri Gomes The United States Ski Team announced the addition of three new board members at a recent meeting in Salt Lake City. Utahn Spencer F. Eccles of the First Security Corporation and Alan Ross of Subaru of America were named as full board members. Congressman Jack Kemp of New York was named as an honorary trustee. He has contributed to the development of local ski race programs in both Salt Lake and Park City. Bum and raised in Ogden, Eccles and his wife have four children. They live in Salt Lake Ross is vice president of corporate communications for Subaru of America. Since 1976 he has been the driving force behind Su'oaru's involvement with the U.S. Ski Team. The company, with guidance from Rose, has widened its support and sponsorship of world-class skiing in America';. . Kemp y is no stranger to professional and amateur sports. For 13 years he was a professional football player for both the American and National leagues. He also is a member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. And Kemp's concern for athletes extends beyond their playing days. He was the co-founder of the NFL Players Pension Board and helped negotiate one of the most comprehensive pension contracts in football history. Kemp, his wife and four children are avid skiers. "I have always been a 'downhill racer' at least in spirit," he said. The board of trustees of the United States Ski Team totals 35 members from across the United States. |
