Show Resident reports canine death A case of a murdered dog topped the Park City Police blotter for the past week. According to a report filed Aug. 20 by Candice Forslund, a dog belonging to the people for whom she was housesitting in the McLeod Creek area was found dead on the doorstep. Forslund reported to police she answered the door the previous evening to find a man in his mid-40s who appeared drunk. She quoted the man as saying he was a neighbor who was tired of barking dogs. An autopsy on the animal revealed it was killed by a single gunshot to the chest. Police continued ' to investigate the matter. Gregory W . O'Hara was arrested Aug. 14 for investigation of DUI in connection with a traffic accident. According to the police report, a driver failed to stop at the intersection of Sidewinder Drive and Gold Dust Lane. A 1982 Datsun pickup truck collied with a 1984 Chevrolet sedan driven by Ralph Carlson of Park City. No injuries were listed in the report. Damage to the Carlson auto is estimated at $100 and damage to the pickup was estimated at $400. On Aug. 15, Gordon Harry called police to report his residence on Lucky John Drive had been burglarized. Harry said he believed a number of items were taken from the house sometime between July and the second week of this month. listed as missing are a Sony Betamax worth $1,200, a Sony VCR valued at $900 and a K-Mart 12-volt battery charger, value not listed. Pete Simpson called police Aug. 14 to report tenants had vandalized an apartment in the Park Avenue Condominiums. According to his statement to police, two people renting the apartment were evicted for not paying rent. Simpson, who is the landlord, discovered property missing from the apartment as well as vandalism that amounted to $1,530. A Santa Monica, Calif, man called police Aug. 18 to report his house on Norfolk Avenue had been broken into between May and the date of his report, listed as missing are $3,400 in valuables. David Alston also reported a vandalism this week. According to his report filed Aug. 18, someone entered his house on little Kate Road and caused $1,500 in damages. Nothing was listed as missing. A West Valley City man told police Aug. 19 he received three broken fingers while riding his bicycle along Kearns Boulevard. His report states the cause of the mishap was a rock falling from a passing truck. |
