Show M (DqpmidlnitnqDifflg Deer Valley Resort On Wednesday Deer Valley Resort reported one inch of new snow, bringing the total depth to 70 inches. All runs and lifts were open with skiing on packed powder surfaces. Although Deer Valley no longer takes ski reservations, the ticket office will sell passes for the following day beginning at 3 p.m. On Feb. 15, 16 and 17 the ticket office will be open until 10 p.m. For daily ski conditions at Deer Valley call 649-2000. Park City Ski Area The Park City Ski Area reported two inches of new snow as of Wednesday morning and a base depth of 78 inches in Jupiter Bowl. All chairlifts and the gondola were operating. For updated snow conditions call 649-9571. Park West Resort ParkWest Resort received two inches of fresh powder Wednesday morning and reported a total depth of 66 inches. All lifts except Tumbleweed and all runs including Geronimo Bowl were open. For daily snow conditions at ParkWest Resort call 649-5400. Beaver Creek Ski Trail Cross-country skiers of all abilities are invited to enjoy the more than 10 miles of groomed trails in the Uinta Mountains east of Kamas. The trails are maintained by the U.S. Forest Service at no charge to the public. Maps are available at the trailhead which is located six miles east of Kamas on the Mirror Lake Highway (Rte. 150) For more information call 783-4338. Jeremy Ranch There are two nordic ski tracks at Jeremy Ranch north of U.S. 80 near Parley's Summit. There is no fee to use the 7.1- or the 12.5- kilometer track. For current track conditions call 649-2700. Piute Creek Cross Country Piute Creek Outfitters is located in Marion, 18 miles east of Park City. It offers guided ski tours over 26 miles of trails in the Uinta Mountains. For information about the guided service call 783-4317. White Pine Touring Center White Pine Touring Center grooms a nine-kilometer two-lane track at the Park City Municipal Golf Course. There is a daily track fee of $1.50. For snow conditions call 649-8701. Wolf Creek Wolf Creek Ski Adventures offers guided snow cat skiing in the Uinta Mountains east of Woodland. Last week it reported a base depth of 75 inches on Wolf Creek Pass. For updated snow conditions and more information about their ski trips call 649-2200. Avalanche Information As of Wednesday the Avalanche Forecast Center reported avalanche hazards at elevations above 8,000 feet. Travel in the back country except on flat or rolling terrain was not recommended. For an updated report on conditions in the back country of the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains call the Avalanche Forecast Center at 364-1581. Report any avalanches to the Summit County Sheriff's Department (649-9561) or to the nearest ski patrol. |
