Show Park Meadows doesn't want snow to deter your tennis by Handy llanskat "It's going to be a fun winter. We've got a tennis program for everyone. A's, B's, and C's, all open to both members and non-members," says Bob McBroom, head tennis pro at the Park Meadows Racquet Club. McBroom wants to make sure tennis players don't forget that the snow doesn't preclude tennis in the winter months in Park City. He says this winter will have many more tennis programs than in past years at the racquet club. McBroom said he will continue his junior development program in the winter, with varying levels for varying skills. A's will play Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., while B's will follow from 4:30 to 5:30. C players will get their chance Saturday mornings from 1 1 'til noon. McBroom says the junior programs pro-grams are not broken up by age, but by ability. Those unsure of which group they would fit in simply need to attend one of the classes. Prices of the junior development program are $25 for four sessions for members, $35 for non-members. For the big people McBroom has scheduled various programs day and night to give just about everyone a chance to keep in good tennis form. A level players will find college level drills, and a "really hard workout" at their sessions, McBroom said. The A women will hit from 9 to 10:30 a.m. every Friday, the men from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The prices of those, and all other workouts, are $7.50 for members, $10 for non-members. Two special programs will keep the attention of players not up to that A level. Thursday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. have been set aside for men's B doubles. McBroom said that program, pro-gram, open to 16 players each week, includes a half-hour workout, followed by one-and-a-half hours of doubles play, with partners paired by ability. For the ladies there is Monday Night Football Widows tennis. The format is the same, with a mix of workout and doubles play, and is for B and C women. Following that, McBroom says, the ladies can enjoy happy hour drink prices and half-prices nachos at Sneakers. For those ladies who would rather play in the daytime, there is a B and C workout from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays. It again is drill and . doubles. ' TW other workouts of note: men's C players hit from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings, while ladies' B players have the court Wednesday from 6 to 7:30. The final program of interest is the Seven Up League Tennis. The league plays at different clubs around the state on Saturdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for the men, and Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the women. McBroom says the league play offers the challenge of playing different people at different clubs. Park Meadows will also offer group and private lessons from 8 a.m. through 9 p.m. daily, McBroom added. McBroom and Shawn Glie-den Glie-den will do the teaching. Both are certified instructors.
