Rockwell's south-of-the-border rescue squad serves Park City and its environs within a 15-mile radius including Deer Valley, ParkWest and Jeremy Ranch. For most trips he promises a flat rate so you don't have to worry about racing against the meter. In-town In-town trips are $3 plus $1 per additional person. Park City to Deer Valley or ParkWest is $5 and the trip to Jeremy Ranch is $10. For visitors, Rockwell says his drivers will be up to date on all the hot tips about what to do and where to go in Park City. "We'll try to be informative and help our clients have a good time. We want them to leave Park City with a good impression and a taxi service can be very representative of the town." But Rockwell is hoping locals won't hesitate to call either, "whether it's for a safe ride home at night or a pizza at a party." It can make even simple trips around town into colossal adventures. Granted there are those rugged mountaineers who thrive on the excitement of negotiating three feet of fresh powder; but most of us would rather do it on the slopes than on the highway. And that's where Tijuana Taxi comes in. "For a quick getaway we'll move you comfortably in our dependable four-wheel-drive Jeep Wagoneers," said Mike Rockwell, the brains behind the new outfit. Rockwell is a seasoned mountain traveler who has lived near Boulder, Colorado as well as Park City. Last summer he began to talk about starting a taxi service. The reception was very enthusiastic.
