Show Plan to set standard for future development Residents will have a chance to comment on the Park City Comprehensive Plan at a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 27. City council and planning commission both will attend the session. The plan is a guideline for future growth and development, replacing a similar document done in 1973. The new guidelines will lead to changes in the city's land code. It also may affect property values, as its guidelines call for changes in zoning. The changes could be made soon after the comprehensive plan is passed, or could be phased in over several years. Should further high-density be kept out of Prospector Square? That is one change suggested by the plan, said city planner Alison Child. Another idea, she said, is that nightly rental should be kept out of the Historic District, or at least certain portions. The plan is trying to determine if nightly rental should be separated from single family housing, or should be concentrated near visitor attractions. Parkites also have an opportunity to comment on other issues such as: possible annexation of areas near the city; conservation of open space and stream corridors; hillside and ridgeline development; and possible expansion of commercial into residential areas. On Sept. 27, the city will host a Marsac Building open house with refreshments at 7 p.m. The hearing will begin at about 7:30. The Park City Comprehensive Plan can be obtained for study at the Planning Department in the Marsac Building (445 Marsac Avenue) and at the Park City Library on Park Avenue. You may also purchase a personal copy by paying $2.50 at Marsac, or mailing a check or money order for$3. 50 to Comprehensive Plan, Park City Planning Department, P.O.
