Show Mining Association Prepares For j Political Candidate Confrontation j Andersen & Co., will address add-ress a special women's meeting concerning coming "Face to Face with the Future" possibilities of being a widow, and how to properly prepare for such an event. j The convention will con- j vene on Friday Morning, September 24, and will ,; conclude at 10:30 a.m. j Sunday, followed by a j brunch. The Utah Mining Association Associa-tion will come "Face to Face with Political Candidates" on Saturday morning, September Sept-ember 15, during the organizations organ-izations 67th Annual Convention Con-vention here in Park City. Jack E. Christensen, UMA Executive Vice President, said this year's convention theme, Mining Comes Face to Face," lends itself to the timing of political races for the November elections of Utah congressional and senatorial sen-atorial candidates. James B. Lee, UMA President Presi-dent and President of Parsons, Par-sons, Behle and Latimer, will serve as moderator for a two-hour session with the six congressional candidates, and also for a one-and-a-halt hour session with the two senatorial opponents. Mr. Lee indicated that each candidate will have the opportunity to address the convention in two five-minute segments, with approximately approxi-mately one hour devoted to answering questions form members of the Mining Association. David L. Bigler, Chairman of the UMA Convention and Public Relations Committee and General Manager -Public Affiars, West for United States Steel Corporation Corpora-tion said other "Face to Face" sessions will cover a wide range of subjects designed to benefit Association Associa-tion members. Under the general category of "Face to Face with the Future," the convention wil hear from Keith R. Knob-lock, Knob-lock, Vice President of the American Mining Congress, regarding "The Future of 1 the Mining Industry with the 98th Congress." Dennis E. Mitchem, of Arthur Andersen Ander-sen & Co., Phoenix will discuss "The Future of the Mining Industry with Regu-, latory Powers," and Dallas ' H. Bradford, from the Salt Lake Citv office of Arthur |
