Show KAC Celebrates Fifth Birthday Friday The Kimball Art Center will celebrate its fifth birthday tomorrow with a special party from 5 to 8 p.m. Jazz group Joshua Stewart will provide entertainment, and there will be cake, punch and champagne for all. The party is free and open to the public. The party is being held to thank the community for its help and support during the past five years. The Center was founded five years ago by William Kimball, a native Utahn currently residing in San Francisco. Mr. Kimball saw a need to bring a performing and visual arts Center to the area, thus helping to make Park City a cultural focal point within the state. The current facility was formerly an abandoned garage. gar-age. Coincidentally, the location loca-tion was originally the site of the Kimball Livery Stable. Since its inception, the Center has been responsible for bringing nearly a hundred hund-red exhibits and numerous performing arts events to Park City. It has also been the sponsor of the Park City Arts Festival during the past few years. In addition, it has offered educational opportunities opportu-nities for art students in a variety of media. Friday's celebration will be hosted by the Art Center staff. For information, call 649-8882. Happy Birthday KAC |
