Show Car Vanishes from Main Street Kathy McKenna reported her car stolen November 13 from in front of Main Street's Cafe Ritz. McKenna said she went into the Gazebo around 4 p.m. and when she returned her $7,000 AMC Concord had vanished. The vehicle was later recovered. Another Vehicle Disappears Along similar lines a 1972 Chevy Impala valued at $500 disappeared from in front of The Claimjumper November 14. Jim Thompson said he parked his car and went into the establishment. When he returned it was gone. He admits leaving the keys in the ignition. Like the McKenna vehicle, Thompson's car was later recovered. Centerpiece Thief Arrested A suspect was taken into custody November 13 after allegedly stealing a candle centerpiece from Padres Mexican Restaurant on lower Park Ave. No dollar value has yet been placed on the decorative item. . : Senior Window Smashed Jim White told officers he heard "laughing and breaking glass" in the vicinity of the Senior Citizen's Building on Woodside Avenue the evening of November 14. He said he investigated and found a window had been broken at the center. Chain Saw Taken A chain saw valued at $400 disappeared November 9 from the Fenchurch Condominium site in the Prospector area. Stereo Gear Reported Missing Mike Coleman reported this week $1,000 in stereo equipment vanished from a Fairway Village condo. The equipment was apparently owned by the condominium owners association. Gas Skip Reported An employee at Park City Self-Serve reported a gas skip Novemember 14 according to the police report the suspect filled up with $10 in gas and then bolted. An investigation continued. , |
