Show I i CIit Cl?at By Bca April 2nd was Ken and my 44th wedding anniversary which was celebrated with some of our children at a dinner at the Spring Chicken Inn at Wanship. We all enjoyed the evening very much. Attending were Greg and Valerie Winn, Gordon and Kay Grange, Velma Jensen, Mike and Kathy Beale (granddaughter). The weekend was one of phone calls, cards and best wishes from family far away. Visiting this week with LaVern Mathie and other old timers were five of Coy and Lois Monsdn's daughters who lived in Park City for years. Valoy M. Stoddard, from Reno, NV, Jean M. Adamson, Carla M. Anderson of.Carmichael, California and Margaret M. Tow of Bishop, California. The girls were very surprised at the change from Park City. The Park .City Chapter of Daughters of Utah Pioneers will hold their regular meeting April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the seminary building. The lesson this month is a continuation of the history of early schools in Utah and Park City. All members are urged to attend. . .This year the annual Daughters of Utah Pioneers Tri-County Convention will be held April 24 at the Kamas Stake Center at 10 a.m. This includes Wasatch, Morgan and Summit counties. Books and supplies will be on sale at 9 a.m. and lunch will be served following the meeting at noon. All members are urged to attend. The place is the Grubstake at Prospector Square. The time is 1 p.m. The date is May 1, 1982. The event is the Park City Ladies Luncheon. Now is the time to make plans to attend the fun event of the year for the ladies who live here or have lived here. Honoring the 80 years and over is the highlight of the day. Did you miss the Heart Fund Fashion Show. If so you missed a good time. The children were the hit of the show. Singers, dancers and models were a delight and truly enjoyed by all who were there to cheer them on. Thanks for lyour support. There are still, some of the heart fund donation envelopes out. If you still have yours, get it in as soon as possible. Your donation is needed. The Utah Mothers association held their annual award ceremony announcing the Mother of the year for 1982 -Eileen Robinson Dunyon of Sandy, Utah. Eileen is the widow of Jay F. Dunyon, she graduated from high school at the age of fifteen and later graduated from the University of Utah. She was elected to Phi Kappa Phi and Delta Kappa Gamma and did graduated work at BYU and Utah State. Her church work included: Primary President, Relief Society President, Stake YWMIA president, Primary General Board of the LDS Church. Her community activities, PTA Board, Lady Lions, county board of DUP, advisory board of Chilrens Friend magazine, State Media Advisory Board, Jordon Credit Union board, Secretary of Days of 47 committee, member of reading arts and society and volunteer for the Utah Symphony. She and her husband were missionary and wife and the parents of four children. The two alternates are Lydia Yates Burrows of South Salt Lake and Ruth Donaldson Brown of Odged, Utah. All candidates known as Merit Mothers were honored at the ceremony by receiving a corsage, a letter from the Governor, a Mothers certificate from the American Mother's Inc. as well as a gift book from the Utah Mothers association. The Mother of the year also received the "Motherhood Statue" created by Avard Fairbanks, a framed certificate honoring her achievments from the American Mothers Inc. and the - state Mother of the year gold pin. A special award and title was given to one of the Merit Mothers who at age 82 has contributed so very much to her family and community. She is Honor Mother of 82 Blanch Grange Waterman of Price Utah. The 47th annual conference of the American Mothers Inc. w"l be held April 28 - May 1 , 1982 at the Hotel Utah in Salt Lake City. Probably the only time in our lifetimes we are privileged to hold it in the state of Utah. Every alternate year it is scheduled to be held at our national headquarters, the Waldorf - Astoria Hotel in New York City. In 1980 it was hosted by the state of Arizona. We hope for a large turnout.
